Our commitment to quality

We want to ensure that every court is built with the highest quality possible. To this end, we have developed a checklist for our customers to review what is required for a top-quality court so they can make an informed decision when comparing proposals.

Touch -Ups and Details

Ensure that your proposal includes days to return for touch-ups. This is often left out and most frequently affects the quality of lines and cleaning of spills. Also make note of if your proposal includes painting under the fence line or if this will be left out. Below is an example of how lines can look when deviations are not properly touched-up.

Court Condition Prior to Work

Prior to any resurfacing work, the existing court must be cleaned and repaired. If it is not cleaned, the layer of algae and debris between the previous surface and the new will cause delamination (layers separate, court must be grinded off and resurfaced). Cleaning should consist of a soft wash with industrial-grade bleach and a surface pressure wash. Similarly, if the existing cracks are not properly sealed they will trap water during the surfacing process and cause severe cracking upon freezing. Additionally, ensure that cracks are filled with a proper crack filler material. Paint CANNOT be used as crack filler as it does not contain a textured grit. Below is an example of how paint will look when used as a crack filler.

Adhesion Promoter

This is absolutely necessary on new concrete and asphalt pads. Without this step, your resurfacer is much more likely to become disconnected from your concrete/asphalt pad. This is not necessary on resurfacing projects. Below is an example of what will happen when an adhesion promoter is not used to help adhere the resurfacer to the concrete pad

Playing area requirements

It is highly recommended that two layers of acrylic surface be applied for base colors. This helps level the court, improves the crack resistance, and ensures that the surface colors are not easily removed with traffic and cleaning. This is required on pickleball courts due to the increased traffic.
